This one thing made a huge difference in my symptoms

My geneticist gave me one tip that has made a dramatic difference in my symptom management. It is so easy, so cheap, and so effective that when I tell you what it is, you’re gonna be like, “there’s no way that works.”

Well, it has definitely worked for me!

So what is it?

Sea salt.

Really. That’s it. That’s the thing.

Add a little sea salt to your water. According to my geneticist, Dr. G. Bradley Schaefer, M.D., folks with Ehlers Danlos (especially the hypermobile type) need more salt than other folks, and making sure you’re getting enough could help reduce flare-ups, sudden heart-rate increases, and other EDS symptoms.

So how much should you add? Well, it depends. I recommend checking with your doctor, especially if you have any underlying medical conditions like high blood pressure. For me, I have low blood pressure and love the taste of salt, so I use quite a bit. I do either 4-5 grinds of pink himalayan sea salt from my salt grinder, or a little pinch of Celtic sea salt.

Jazz up your water even more!

If you really want to take your water to the next level, squeeze a slice of lemon into it and add a few cucumber slices. It’s refreshing and delicious, and you’ll find yourself drinking a ton more water than you usually would!
